The Fabulous Red Diesel
As heard on Jazz FM Jan 2021- Supported The James Taylor Quartet at St Mary in The Castle hastings,Jan 2020
The Fabulous Red Diesel is what you get when a celtic folk singer/songwriter/lyricist and a anglo/ caribbean hip-hop drummer fall in love. Add some double bass, classical trumpet, occasional Tuba and a mad scientist playing ethereal trumpet, funky guitar and electronic soundscapes, and there you have it, The Fabulous Red Diesel.
They recently opened for the amazing James Taylor Quartet, and are already booked for the Rye Jazz festival in August 2021.
Their 7th album ''The Queensbury House Sessions'' has made the playlist for Jazz FM with the lead track, Butterfly Mind .
A collection of 16 beautiful modern soul classics, recorded live in a day at Queensbury House in Hastings on a live digital 16 track by Nick Endacott-Gibb of Wizard Audio.
Their 3rd album was mixed by Phill Brown (Are We Still Rolling ?)
They have written and produced a musical theatre piece called Sparkly Bird, with dance and aerial performance, and the soundtrack to this show is the title of their 6th album.
At heart they are a close knit group of friends, and have a warm and engaging stage presence. The music is constantly changing, the instrumentation is unpredictable , and the sound is totally their own. This is truly C21st jazz in the making.
