The Fabulous Red Diesel
Supporting The James Taylor Quartet at St Mary in The Castle hastings,Jan 2020
The Fabulous Red Diesel take original emotional hooky folk tunes ,add hip-hop drum rhythms, , classical trumpet and doublebass, and then add a mad scientist playing ethereal trumpet, funky guitar and electronic soundscapes. There is also a Tuba called Gloria.
They recently opened for the amazing James Taylor Quartet, and are already booked for the Rye Jazz festival in August 2021.
They are currently preparing for the release of their 7th album called ''The Queensbury House Sessions''.A collection of 16 tracks, including ''Birdie''and ''Butterfly Mind'',recorded live in a day at Queensbury House in Hastings on a live digital 16 track by Nick Endacott-Gibb of Wizard Audio.
Their 3rd album was mixed by Phill Brown (Are We Still Rolling ?)
They have written and produced a musical theatre piece called Sparkly Bird, with dance and aerial performance, and the soundtrack to this show is the title of their 6th album.
At heart they are a close knit group of friends, and have a warm and engaging stage presence. The music is constantly changing, the instrumentation is unpredictable , and the sound is totally their own. This is truly C21st jazz in the making.
